The Mother Earth Gatherings

The Earth Gatherings provides a great experience for those who attend. It provides a wonderful venue for speakers, teachers, musicians and artists.  While we are there we become a part of a community that connects with each other and nature in a way that sustains us even while we are not at the gatherings.  We take home with us this deep sense of belonging and connection.

We have rented Silver Falls State Park for many years and it is a great and wonderful location,

but it is also limiting.  The park has many regulations that make it difficult to facilitate our increasing numbers.

We are in a unique position as a 501 (c) 3 to raise funds through donations and other means. We would like to be in a position to purchase land on which to hold our gatherings. During the last event, Carly, a young woman attending the Middle Earth Gathering, suggested we work together and hold the Gatherings on her acreage-(170 acres south  of Salem and north of Corvallis along a beautiful river). This seems ideal in many ways, but also would require a greater commitment to make improvements on the site to facilitate our Gatherings.

Improvements like clearing brush, creating paths, building storage and stage platforms, etc., and these improvements cost time and money.

Several ways present themselve to me, to accomplish these tasks and achieve our goals as an organization, such as;  organizing volunteers to help with fund-raising, grant-writing, donations, event planning and execution, and other areas that need volunteer support.

We need to be more organized and so I am sending out a call to ask you to work with me to accomplish this; to be more organized and to help The Earth Gatherings become positioned to take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.

In the past we have been grateful for all the work our volunteers have done.  We ask, I ask, you to become more involved in our community to help chart the course for our direction. 

The opportunities of the future may present themselves at any moment and, as many of us know "luck favors the prepared."

If you, or someone you know, have an interest in being a 'part of the solution' please call me and plan to attend our meetings.  We need volunteers who really care about our planet and want to make a difference by  helping to create a healthy environment for us all!

We are doing important work, (even though it seems fun), and we need everyone who is willing to help to step forward.

Let's make this a win/win situation and work together to make The Earth Gatherings better and bigger every year!!
